Scope
Complete design-and-build of a neglected municipal plot into a working public park, delivered in three phases over eleven months so that half the site stayed open to the public throughout.
Work performed
- Site clearance and levelling of 18,000 m²
- Import and grading of 2,400 m³ of topsoil
- Construction of 1,900 m of pedestrian pathways with stone edging
- Installation of an automatic irrigation network across six zones
- Planting of 420 trees, 6,800 shrubs and ground covers
- Installation of 7,500 m² of Bermuda turf
- Seasonal bedding at the three main entrances
- Supply and fixing of benches, bins and pathway lighting bases
Irrigation
Six-zone automatic system: sub-surface drip to shrub and tree planting, pop-up sprinklers to lawn areas, with a programmable controller, filtration and pressure regulation. Zoned by water requirement so the drought-tolerant planting runs on a separate programme from the turf.
Maintenance
Two-year maintenance contract: weekly mowing and litter clearance, monthly pruning and feeding, quarterly irrigation service, and replacement of any plant losses within the establishment period.
