Scope
A sloping 2,300 m² site turned into four usable terraces, with the planting designed to hold the slope as much as to look well - the upper banks are stabilised entirely by prostrate rosemary and lantana rather than by hard structures.
Work performed
- Survey, levels and planting design
- Construction of 140 m of stone retaining walls and planter kerbs
- Stone pathways and steps linking four terraces
- Planting of 48 trees including olive, cypress, Judas tree and fruit
- Shrub, perennial and ground-cover planting to all terraces
- 900 m² of tall fescue lawn suited to the altitude
- Pergola with bougainvillea and garden lighting
Irrigation
Four-zone automatic system with separate programmes per terrace, drip to all beds and pop-up sprinklers to the lawn, controlled from a single unit at the service yard.
Maintenance
Fortnightly maintenance visits year-round: mowing, pruning, feeding, seasonal replanting of the entrance beds and full irrigation servicing before each summer.
