Olive Tree
Olea europaea
About this plant
The defining tree of the Mediterranean landscape and the most requested specimen in our nursery. Silver-grey foliage, a sculptural trunk that improves with age, and almost no water demand once established. Supplied as young nursery stock or as mature transplanted specimens with a character trunk, which are the ones clients usually want for a courtyard or an entrance.
Planting & care
Plant in free-draining soil; olives will not tolerate standing water. Full sun, sheltered from cold wet wind inland. Water weekly through the first two summers, then only in extended drought. Prune in late winter to keep the centre open.
