Cedar of Lebanon
Cedrus libani
About this plant
The national tree, and a specimen worth planting only where the climate suits it. Given altitude, drainage and time, it develops the layered horizontal canopy that no other conifer in the region matches. We supply nursery-grown stock and advise honestly on whether a site can carry one.
Planting & care
Deep, well-drained mountain soil, full sun, sheltered from hot dry summer wind. Water regularly for the first three years while the root system establishes, then leave alone. Never top or reduce the leader.
