Jacaranda
Jacaranda mimosifolia
About this plant
Planted for the three weeks in early summer when the whole canopy turns violet-blue, and kept for the fine ferny foliage the rest of the year. One of the most effective avenue trees for a boulevard or a hotel approach.
Planting & care
Full sun, sheltered from strong wind, free-draining soil. Water regularly through the first summers. Prune in winter to build a single clear trunk; the wood is brittle, so keep the crown balanced.
