Bay Laurel
Laurus nobilis
About this plant
Aromatic dark evergreen used three ways: as a clipped hedge, as a formal ball or cone in a planter, or left to grow into a small multi-stemmed tree. One of the few good hedging plants that also tolerates shade.
Planting & care
Sun or part shade, well-drained soil, moderate water. Clip twice in the growing season for a formal shape - use secateurs rather than shears on large leaves to avoid cut edges browning.
