Orange Tree
Citrus sinensis
About this plant
A dense round-headed evergreen that doubles as an ornamental: dark glossy leaves, heavily scented spring blossom and fruit that holds on the tree through the winter. Also used as a formal street tree in sheltered coastal towns.
Planting & care
Full sun, deep well-drained soil, regular water in summer. Feed in spring and mid-summer. Prune lightly after harvest to keep the centre open and remove suckers below the graft.
