Sago Palm
Cycas revoluta
About this plant
Not a true palm, but used like one: a slow, symmetrical rosette of stiff dark fronds that reads as a sculpture in a planter or at the corner of a bed. Very long-lived and almost indestructible in a pot.
Planting & care
Bright shade to full sun, sharply drained soil, sparing water. Produces one flush of new fronds a year - protect it while soft. All parts are toxic if eaten, so site with care around small children and pets.
